About Us
Our Story
Think Speak Films, an imprint of Geykido Comet Records, was founded in 2013 by husband and wife team Shahab Zargari and Heela Naqshband. It is based in Las Vegas, Nevada.
The name Think Speak is a nod to George Orwell’s 1984. In the novel, Orwell creates a form of English called Newspeak which is the way the totalitarian government brainwashes the masses and prevents free thinking.
Some definitions from the book:
NEWSPEAK = Not needing to think when you speak, the government has done all the thinking for you.
DOUBLE THINK = Accepting two mutual beliefs.
Merging these ideas, Think Speak to us means believing in yourself and speaking your own mind. This is what we aim to do with all of our films.
Before pivoting to filmmaking, Think Speak was originally started as a media company. The first creative output was a science fiction novel in 2011 published under the multi-media company name of Think Speak Publishing. Once production wrapped on our debut film in 2013, the name of the company shifted to Think Speak Films.
“Our goal is to make a good film and not waste the viewers time with a bunch of fluff.”
It’s a family business, y’all.
